Like I said in my chat with Eram earlier this month,self-love is not a to-do list.
The truth is, the core of self-love - that glowy feeling that builds from the inside out - doesn’t come from a list of boxes you can tick. If you’re just ticking boxes, I guarantee that no action you take will get you closer to self-love.
It’s when you allow yourself to fully be in the moment, to find your Heart Fire, and cultivate the feeling of smiling from within, that actions can bring you closer to self-love.
With that in mind, here is a list of some of my favourite quick and easy self-love practices you can use to nourish your Heart Fire, feel good, and see results. But remember, whichever actions you choose, don’t just tick a box!
One.
Take time for you, without guilt or “I should be doing ...” thoughts. Maybe this is a hot, steamy cup of tea. Maybe this is sitting in your favourite chair, eyes closed, listening to that song. Maybe this is going for a walk or a run. It is whatever you need it to be.
Two.
Take a moment daily, to pamper yourself from that glowy space inside (this is the perfect opportunity to dive into my MP3, Light Up Your Life, A Daily Meditation).
Three.
Look at your calendar and identify those activities that drain you. Can you let them go? If not, how can you change the dynamic so it works better for you?
Four.
Spend some time writing down a few things that you’re grateful for and make you feel good inside. Write as much or as little as feels right for you.
Five.
Think of one thing you can change about your daily routine to make a habit of making space for yourself. This could be yoga before bed, meditation, making a healthy smoothie in the morning, or something else that resonates with you.
